Celebrating Women's Femininity: A Breast Cancer Survivor's Fashion Show - May 2007

The Atlantic County Healthy Living Coalition hosted a free sit down lunch celebrating food, fun, fashion and femininity on Saturday, May 19, 2007 at Wash's in Pleasantville, NJ.  Activities consisted of a presentation by Doreleena Sammons-Posey, SM (Breast Cancer Survivor & Director of Chronic Disease Prevention and Control Services), a fashion show, hand massage, makeup application and varies giveaways and prizes.  A Shining Star Award was also given to Elizabeth Jeter-Greene for her excellent volunteer work in breast cancer awareness.

Teresa Berry from NBC 40 hosted the event.  She was a wonderful addition for the day and kept the event light and fun.  Doreleena Sammons-Posey spoke from her heart and honestly about her breast cancer experience and encouraged all women to get their routine mammograms.  These two ladies made a stellar combination to a wonderful day!

A special thank you to all the people who were involved in this event, especially our breast cancer survivor models.  We hope they had a great time.

Fashions were presented by:  Another Level in Pleasantville, Dress Barn in Atlantic City, and Totally You in Linwood.  Makeup Application by Boscov’s.
