Coaltion Goals

Source ACHLC Members

Educate the general public and healthcare providers about the risks/early detection (specifically screening) of chronic disease.

  • Enact the New Jersey Comprehensive Cancer Control Plan (NJ-CCCP) and the Atlantic County Capacity Needs Assessment Report.
  • Educate healthcare providers about the importance of follow-up.

Educate the public about utilizing their health insurance for screening and the importance of a primary care physician.

  • Encourage all populations to take personal responsibility for their healthcare through personal empowerment and by asking educated questions and seeking out answers.

Educate the public about the importance of a healthy lifestyle, as well as what is a healthy lifestyle. Special attention to obesity issues, the identification of high risk groups and where to refer patients.

  • Target underserved populations with additional outreach/education about the healthcare system and services available.
  • Work with key organizations (churches, community groups, schools, businesses, etc) in the county to network services, coordinate resources and improve access for all patients.

ACHLC membership is made up of a group of Atlantic County healthcare professionals, organizations and concerned citizens.
