Cancer

Cancer is the second leading cause of death among Americans. The cancer risk can be reduced by adopting healthier lifestyles such as avoiding tobacco use, increasing physical activity, maintaining optimal weight, improving nutrition and avoiding sun exposure. Cancer survival can be improved by increasing screenings to detect and treat cancer early, when cancer is most treatable. (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention 9-8-04)
